EMCO CAL Group Fruit Logistica Trade Show 2025

The EMCO CAL Group at Fruit Logistica 2025 at Berlin, Germany, held from 5-7 February, was honored with the visit of his excellency Mr. Alaa Farouk, the Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. The minister was accompanied by many Egyptian officials who visited us with him and we all were happy to have Dr. Mohamed Elmansy, the head of the Egyptian Agriculture Quarantine, with Dr. Islam Farahat, the head of the phyto-sanitary unit at the agricultural quarantine. Also, we appreciate very much the visit by the UPEHC head Major General Ashraf El-Sharqawi, Chairman of the General Union of Producers and Exporters of Horticultural Crops ( UPEHC). All have been updated by Dr. Fahiem E. Kora, The Director of the International Strawberry Breeding Program at the University of Florida, and the executive director of Cal Pacific Egypt/EMCO CAL Group about the the EMCOCAL breeding programs world wide and discussed with them increasing the production of distinguished strawberry seedlings through the company's and university's nurseries in Egypt and exporting them abroad, within the framework of the protocol signed between the company and the Ministry of Agriculture in this regard. Minister Alaa Farouk listened to officials of the company and the University of Florida about their plans in Egypt to make it a global center for the production of not only strawberries, but other berry crops, including blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and citrus fruits, as well as establishing a center of excellence and tissue laboratories for direct production in Egypt to cover the Egyptian and global market and make Egypt a primary source of these crops produced by 8 international universities and research institutes
