As part of its commitment to enhancing scientific cooperation and supporting the agricultural education system in Egypt, linking academic education with agricultural industry and practical application, and working to graduate agricultural engineers capable and ready to compete in the labor market, Cal-Pacific Egypt was honored to receive a high-level academic delegation from the Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, headed by Professor Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Mohamed Attia, Dean of the Faculty, and the Vice Deans and Department Heads. The delegation included a number of faculty members, support staff, and students, totaling approximately 100 participants from various departments of the Faculty. The delegation was on a distinguished academic visit aimed at learning about the latest methods used in the production and cultivation of berry varieties.
The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Fahim El-Barai Koura, Director of the International Strawberry and Berry Program at the University of Florida, USA, along with the Cal-Pacific Egypt team. A field tour was organized inside the company's farms in Nubaria, which included a detailed explanation of the modern technologies used in the cultivation and production of berry varieties developed in cooperation with the berry breeding programs at the University of Florida, USA, and other international universities through Eckland Marketing Company in Florida, known as the American ImcoCal Group of Companies, as it is the exclusive agent for these programs in Egypt and the world through Cal-Pacific Egypt, These varieties are distinguished by their high quality, suitability for various climatic conditions, and strong demand for export, whether fresh or processed (frozen).
This visit comes as part of the company's commitment to strengthening communication with Egyptian universities and transferring scientific knowledge and expertise to new generations of students and researchers. This will help bridge academic and practical learning and enhance the efficiency of future agricultural cadres.
